Chrysler recalls Jeep Cherokee, Chrysler 200, Jeep Renegade and RAM ProMaster vehicles

Currently the Law firm of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath, who is best known for their products liability investigation and litigation team are handling several faulty transmission cases with the Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Several of these cases are out of the State of Florida.  All having to do with the vehicle either coming out of gear or not properly going into park as it was designed to do.  All of these cases involve a driver either being pinned by their own vehicle or an unfortunate death due to the Jeep running over them from either the front or rear.

As in the death of actor, Anton Yelchin who’s Jeep rolled down his driveway and pinned him to a brick post in front of his Los Angeles home, all of these cases involve the same or similar situation of the vehicle rolling out of a gear on not going into the safety lock position once the driver’s door is opened.

The firm purchased a 2015 Jeep GC and did extensive testing on the car.  No less than five individuals, which included two investigators, the attorney Scott B. Smith, a paralegal and the Director of PR all put the Jeep through its paces and videoed the process.  It failed all five times on the road in real world conditions.

Fiat Chrysler (FCAM) filed a recall notice in April with federal safety regulators for the 2015 Grand Cherokee, the model Yelchin owned, the Chrysler 300 & 400s along with 1.1 million cars and SUVs in April. More than 100 crashes have been reported due to a gear selector problem that caused confusion about whether the car was in park.

The law firm of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath has specialized in defective auto products along with other types of manufacturers defects since 1985 and is well known nationally for their legal investigative prowess.  If you own a Jeep GC or have a friend or loved one that owns one of the drive by wire vehicles and have questions or have been injured, call the West Palm Beach Law Firm of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath at 561-655-1990.  The call and the consultation are free.
