David C. Prather specializes in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice and products liability litigation. He joined LRCF&W in 1995 and is now a partner in the firm. Throughout the years, David has achieved numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.
David plays an active role in shaping the legal system of the State of Florida. He serves on the Florida Bar Board of Governors, The Florida Supreme Court Historical Society, and the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission. He has also held leadership positions in both the Palm Beach County Bar Association and Palm Beach County Justice Association.
David began his career as an Assistant Public Defender in West Palm Beach. He then became an Assistant State Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit where he gained extensive and diversified trial experience prosecuting cases from first-degree murder and death penalty cases to capital sexual offenses.
David has won many notable awards throughout his legal career. Since 2006, David has been recognized annually in the prestigious publication, The Best Lawyers in America. He has also been chosen for South Florida Legal Guide’s listing of "Top Lawyers in South Florida" in the area of Civil Litigation. In addition, Florida Trend Magazine has selected him as one of Florida’s "Legal Elite" in its annual poll of attorneys throughout the state since 2004. He has also been named one of South Florida’s 100 most accomplished blacks in law and healthcare by ICABA, the global network for the accomplished.
