29-year-old Sophie Prudhomme was tragically killed in an early-morning collision on July 2. She was involved in a three-vehicle accident that is still being investigated by authorities.
The incident took place at the intersection of Military Trail and Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach, just west of the airport.
A 24-year-old man was behind the wheel of a 2018 Infiniti Q60S, speeding north on Military Trail. The Infiniti hit the passenger side of the 2003 Hyundai that Prudhomme was driving. She was heading south with the intention of making a left turn.
The impact caused Prudhomme’s vehicle to veer in a perilous direction, which ended with it striking a concrete power pole. The collision left the young woman in a dire medical condition. She was transported to a local hospital but did not survive her injuries.
After the two cars made contact, the Infiniti spun around and struck a 2020 Corolla driven by a 43-year-old man. This caused the Corolla to rotate in a counterclockwise direction.
The Corolla’s two occupants, the 43-year-old driver and a 28-year-old woman, were both taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. At this time, it appears that they are not deemed to be serious.
In addition to being mindful of substance intake, it’s also critical to reduce speed at night.
