Details are still coming out regarding the full series of events that took place during the early morning hours of May 21, but we know that a 33-year-old man was killed riding his motorcycle in a crash on Florida’s Turnpike.

Reports indicate that he lost control of his 2019 Kawasaki Ninja bike after it made contact with a 2022 Ford Escape SUV. The motorcycle was said to have collided with the rear of the SUV, which sent it veering off towards the shoulder. The bike would end up overturning and ejecting the rider.

The SUV was driven by a 72-year-old man who was deemed to come out of the incident without injury.

The accident took place north of 45th Street and south of the Beeline Highway. Palm Beach Fire Gardens Rescue pronounced the motorcycle rider dead at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, as it’s unclear if there were any other factors involved in the accident over and above driver error.

It is recommended that vehicles keep “three seconds worth” of distance between one another.
