The Mozie family has been grieving after the loss of 34-year-old Shakira Mozie, who never made it home after a Christmas Eve party. Broward Sheriff’s Office investigators believe that she fell out of her white Lexus SUV on the Florida Turnpike that night, which is a theory that has raised just as many questions as answers.
“Why would she? Why would she jump out of her car?” said Sheldon Mozie, Kira’s father. Via Local10.com.
Duane Hawkins was driving the Lexus that night, and Sheldon Mozie believes Hawkins is the only person who knows what happened that evening. Broward Sheriff’s Office police apprehended Hawkins on January 8 for driving with a suspended license.
A 10-year-old daughter survives Kira Mozie. She worked at Discovery Elementary School in Sunrise, working with community members as a tutor and a cheerleading coach.
Details surrounding the circumstances of Mozie’s death will likely continue to trickle out as the investigation progresses.
