A 59-year-old man was killed in a crash with a dump truck in Englewood East on Monday. The incident occurred at 2:50 p.m. on State Road 776 at Sunnybrook Boulevard.
Florida Highway Patrol determined that the dump truck was headed west on S.R. 776, approaching the intersection as the man driving the pickup headed south on Sunnybrook.
According to the FHP report, the dump truck driver failed to stop at a red light, striking the pickup.
The man in the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene.
