Pedestrian Gary Millar was trying to cross the railroad tracks in front of the Palm Beach County Courthouse when he was struck by a northbound Brightline train that had just left the station.
The collision was gruesome, as the passenger train was heading north at 34 miles per hour.
While the scene was being investigated and processed by West Palm Beach Police, the road between North Quadrille Avenue and Rosemary Avenue was closed.
Millar was an employee of the Palm Beach County Courthouse and is survived by his family.
