Unfortunately, the early morning hours of August 29 featured two separate incidents involving people being struck by cars in Palm Beach County.
A bicyclist was struck by a 2013 Toyota Corolla at 2311 10th Avenue near Lake Worth Beach shortly before 6 a.m. 41-year-old James Lindelof was on the bike at the time of the collision and was riding on 10th Avenue from south to north.
The front of the Corolla smacked into the bicycle, and Lindelof was sent flying over the vehicle. The driver of the car has not been identified, but it has been confirmed that they were not hurt. Lindelof was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another car hit a pedestrian at Gun Club Road and Congress Avenue. Not much is known about the incident at this time, but the pedestrian has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
