A calm Monday morning was quickly disrupted by the screeching of tires and blaring sirens, marking the onset of a high-speed police pursuit. The pursuit, initiated by Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) deputies, targeted a silver Toyota Camry linked to an aggravated assault case. This chase unfolded eastbound from State Road 7 and reached its climax with a multi-vehicle collision at Commercial Boulevard and Powerline Road.
The collision, which brought traffic to a standstill, resulted in injuries to a BSO deputy and several civilians, including a woman.
