By Lytal, Reiter, Smith, lvey & Fronrath

A man was fatally struck by a vehicle in a residential driveway Saturday night in West Park, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit.

According to investigators, the incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on June 21 in the 5600 block of Southwest 19th Street. Deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

Preliminary findings reveal the unidentified male victim was walking eastbound along Southwest 19th Street before, for unknown reasons, he laid down partially in a home’s driveway. He reportedly remained in that position for several hours.

The crash occurred when 24-year-old Kimberlie Jeune of Miami attempted to park her 2025 Honda CR-V in the driveway, unknowingly striking the man with the vehicle’s passenger side undercarriage.

Following the impact, Jeune immediately stopped and called emergency services. The victim was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing. The Broward Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased.
