Depending on certain terrain and track layouts, trains might also be making tighter turns through trees, which reduces visibility for conductors and pedestrians alike.

Unfortunately, an individual was found dead at a railroad crossing in Deerfield Beach, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The sad incident took place on the morning of May 21.

The body was found lying next to two trains – a Brightline and a freight train. At this juncture, officials have declined to comment regarding the direction that each train was traveling in, and which one(if not both) struck the pedestrian.

It also isn’t known whether the pedestrian had the right of way to cross in this scenario, which would provide additional valuable context. The identity of the person has also not been released.

The event took place near East Hillsboro Boulevard and North Dixie Highway. The tracks are operated by Florida East Coast Railway.
