Just before 11 a.m. on January 15, a van flipped on Daniels Parkway heading east in Fort Meyers. The driver was transported to a local hospital with what was described as non-life-threatening injuries.
13500 Sophomore Lane was closed off as tow trucks arrived at the scene.
While the cause of the crash is unknown, South Trail Fair Protection and Rescue Service District took the opportunity to remind drivers not to come to a complete stop when encountering a flashing yellow light. Early speculation may indicate that this played a role in the accident.
