Two people lost their lives in a head-on crash in Immokalee during the late evening hours of January 21. The accident occurred on Immokalee Road between Camp Keais Road and Everglades Boulevard.
For unknown reasons, a 34-year-old man driving a Toyota Tacoma lost control of his vehicle heading east on Immokalee Road. The car flew into the westbound lane and slammed into a Nissan sedan driven by 27-year-old Tenequa Smith.
Smith and the driver of the Tacoma were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The man’s identity has not yet been confirmed to the public at this time.
Smith was the Aquatics Supervisor for the City of Naples and was known by the community as “Coach T.”
