unidentified pedestrian killed in palm beach gardens collision

An unidentified man is believed to be the first traffic death of 2024 in Palm Beach County. The man, a pedestrian crossing Military Trail westbound, walked in front of a Honda Accord driven by a 53-year-old woman.

When the collision took place, the man was flung onto the hood of the Accord. His body slid onto the windshield, “fender vaulted” off the passenger side of the vehicle, then struck the roadway.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue pronounced the man dead at the scene.

As the investigation is still pending, it’s not clear whether the man had the right of way to cross. It has not yet been confirmed whether the driver will be charged.
