What is being described as an “unknown object” flew through the air and rendered a driver unconscious as they were driving on a Florida highway on April 6. According to reports, the object was believed to be a tire, which ended up shattering the windshield and damaging the roof of the driver’s GMC truck.

The driver was airlifted to the hospital, and their condition is not known at this time.

In a remarkable display of quick thinking and rapid reaction, a passenger in the GMC took the wheel immediately after the driver’s state was compromised and drove the car successfully off to the side.

There were two other passengers in the vehicle as well, and they sustained injuries that were deemed to be non-life-threatening. They were transported to the hospital as well.

Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath is troubled to hear about this story and hopes that a determination can be made as to how the object reached the road. We can be contacted at (561) 655-1990 in the event you or someone you know is hurt in a motor vehicle accident.
