Car Graco Recalls Car Seats

West Palm Beach, FLORIDA — Graco Children’s Products, Inc. (Graco) has recalled specific car seat models for failure to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 213, “Child Restraint Systems”.

Certain Extend2Fit Convertible child seats manufactured between November 27, 2015 and January 20, 2016 are being recalled because the car seats may have the recline label affixed to the wrong location, resulting in confusion about how to use the seat properly. If the car seat is installed as displayed, a rear-facing infant could be placed in an upright position and/or a forward-facing toddler could be placed in a recline position. In both cases there is potential risk of injury to the child in the event of a crash. The recall will begin February 26, 2016.  Graco is expected to notify registered owners to provide a new corrected label with application instructions, free of charge.

Certain ComfortSport child restraints (models # 1813040 and #1794333), Ready Ride child restraints (models #1924520 and #1924519) and Classic Ride child restraints (model # 1812930) manufactured between March 1, 2014 and February 28, 2015 are being recalled because of a missing statement on the affixed label that identifies the location of the instruction manual. If the label does not inform the seat owner of the instruction manual’s location, the owner may not be able to refer to it to ensure the care seat is used properly, thus increasing the risk of injury to the child in the event of a crash. This recall will begin February 22, 2016. Graco will be notifying registered owners and mailing corrected labels to affix to the child restraints.
