A Miami-Dade police SUV and a silver car were involved in a collision that caused significant damage early Saturday morning.
The accident occurred around 6 a.m. near Northwest Second Avenue and 71st Street. After the collision, the police SUV struck a pole, and the silver car ended up on a nearby sidewalk. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
Detective Angel Rodriguez of Miami-Dade Police confirmed that the officer was on duty during the crash. The cause has not yet been disclosed.
The driver of the silver car was transported to a local hospital as a precaution, while the officer did not report any injuries.
