Around 10 p.m. on May 5, a man was hit by a 2008 Nissan Rogue and was pronounced dead at the scene by Greenacres Fire Rescue.
The man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was headed north in the 6100 block of Lake Worth Road in Greenacres when he crossed the median and stepped in front of the vehicle. This happened near the Greenacres Bowling Alley.
According to initial reports, the vehicle was being driven by a 54-year-old woman, who was not injured.
Early findings of the investigation indicate that the man was impaired, either under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
