Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian early Friday near Kissimmee.

Troopers said an unknown vehicle — possibly a white Acura MDX SUV — was traveling northbound on the inside lane of Buenaventura Boulevard, north of Osceola Parkway, when it struck a 42-year-old Kissimmee man attempting to cross the road at approximately 1:20 a.m.

The driver fled the scene, continuing northbound on Buenaventura Boulevard, according to FHP.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the crash site.

Troopers shut down a stretch of Buenaventura Boulevard near Osceola Parkway around 2 a.m. and reopened it shortly before 6:30 a.m.

Investigators urge anyone with information about the driver or vehicle to contact FHP at 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

The crash remains under investigation.
