A woman was severely injured when a golf cart crashed into the front door of Tako Tiki, a bar in Jensen Beach, on the evening of Oct. 19. The patron, who frequently visited the bar, suffered a serious pelvic injury and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Her current condition remains unknown.
Troy Pulley, the owner of Tako Tiki, described the injured woman as a “great lady” and a “wonderful customer.”
Captain Ruben Romero of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the golf cart involved in the incident belonged to Ocean Breeze Resort, located about half a mile from the bar. According to Romero, the driver may have been an employee of the resort, and the woman who attempted to drive the cart may not have been authorized to operate the vehicle.
While the investigation is ongoing, Romero mentioned that citations for the driver are likely to be issued.
