Marty Kerner
Business Development
Marty Kerner serves in the firm’s Business Development department. Prior to joining Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath, Marty built a distinguished career in law enforcement spanning more than 20 years in Palm Beach County. During his tenure, he served as Chief of Detectives and ultimately retired as Deputy Chief of Police. His leadership and investigative expertise earned statewide recognition, including being named by The Miami Herald as one of Florida’s most effective Detective Commanders.
Following his law enforcement career, Marty brought his wealth of experience to Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath, where he initially utilized his investigative background to assist attorneys and clients with complex case investigations. Today, Marty focuses on business development, using the same dedication, professionalism, and relationship-building skills that defined his law enforcement career to strengthen the firm’s presence throughout South Florida.
Working closely with attorneys, healthcare providers, referral sources, and community organizations, Marty helps cultivate meaningful partnerships while serving as a trusted resource for those seeking experienced legal representation. His decades of public service, extensive network throughout the community, and commitment to helping others make him an invaluable member of the firm’s team.
Marty is passionate about giving back to the community he has served for decades and takes pride in representing a firm that shares his commitment to helping individuals and families through difficult times. He and his wife, Laurie, live in Atlantis and have two sons.
