Unreported Keyless Ignition Death

West Palm Beach, Florida — Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey and Fronrath have filed a suit for a local death reportedly linked to a keyless ignition system.

A suit was filed for the death of a 60-year-old in Palm Beach County Court by partner Lance Ivey of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey and Fronrath. “Our client went unreported in the newspaper regarding the keyless ignition deaths” stated Lance C. Ivey.

It is unknown how many keyless ignition deaths go unreported each year. “Manufacturers who place profit above safety are putting the public in danger, Safety First – Safety Always as we believe here at Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey and Fronrath” said Mr. Ivey.

Palm Beach Post recently reported that Palm Beach County leads the country in keyless ignition deaths.

Keyless vehicle ignition systems have been linked to multiple carbon monoxide poisoning deaths and injuries in the United States. Vehicles are usually inadvertently left running in an attached garage, causing carbon monoxide to slowly leak into the residence, poisoning unsuspecting occupants. Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless and tasteless, making it difficult to detect until victims become ill or death occurs.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is expected to announce firmer regulations for car manufacturers this month in an effort to protect consumers from accidental injury or death, but so far have kept quiet about the details.
