It’s a scenario that many families can relate to: teenagers living at home want privacy, so they spend a lot of time in their room. In this day and age, especially during the pandemic, high school and college underclassmen living with their family can easily spend several hours in their room talking to their friends, playing video games, and filming dances on Tik-Tok.

On July 29th, 19-year-old Isaiah Riley was doing just that. He was passing the time on his phone, when something completely unexpected happened.

A car smashed through the side of his home, knocking Riley to the other side of his bedroom.

“Next thing I know, in under three seconds a car is halfway through my room,” Riley recalled. “Blood is dripping off my face and there’s glass flying through my room.” Via Newsbreak.com

It was an unfathomable set of circumstances, and Riley is truly lucky to be alive after such a sudden and unpredictable accident. Fortunately, it appears that no one in the home other than Riley was injured.

Riley was transported to the hospital for treatment of gashes on both his head and his legs. Riley was released from the hospital after receiving treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was also taken to the hospital, however information regarding their condition has not been made public. Riley’s family commented that the driver appeared to be alert after the crash.

Riley’s grandfather works for a remodeling company, and has estimated that a full repair will cost more than $40,000.
