immokalee canal crash

A car crashed into an Immokalee canal on the evening of October 23, killing two people, one of whom was a two-year-old toddler. The single vehicle crashed into the canal near Lauren Lane and Crestview Drive.

Florida Highway Patrol communicated that the car was in a parking lot before the driver, a 39-year-old woman hit the gas. The vehicle drove over the space barrier and entered the lake. 

After the crash, the 27-year-old man and two-year-old boy were taken to the hospital, where they sadly succumbed to their injuries. The driver was not injured.

This incident remains under investigation, as law enforcement is looking to determine whether foul play or substance abuse was present at the time of the crash.
