On the early morning of Christmas Day around 7:53 a.m., Fort Pierce Police officers promptly attended to a single-vehicle crash at South U.S. Highway 1 and Palm Avenue intersection. According to the spokesperson for the Fort Pierce Police Department, the initial findings from the investigation indicate that a 27-year-old woman from Fort Pierce was heading northbound in the 2800 block of South U.S. Highway 1. Her gray Honda sedan collided with the median, crossed all southbound lanes, and struck two trees before stopping in the 2700 block.

Following the incident, the woman was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. At this time, the identity of the victim has not been disclosed.
