Certain homeowners enjoy decking out their yards with festive decorations and lights. This effort and creativity gives neighborhoods a warm winter charm.

In the early morning hours of December 17, someone’s masterful work was undone by 30-year-old Michael Lamlin, who decided to drive drunk and ran over a Christmas decoration setup in the front yard of a home in Port St. Lucie. The out-of-control vehicle continued on to crash into a parked car in the driveway.

According to reports, no one was injured in the fracas, as no one was on the sidewalk or in the front of the home during the time of the accident.

The driver was taken into custody and arrested on a DUI charge, and was later taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.

It’s interesting to wonder what might have happened that this incident not taken place at the height of the holiday season. While the vehicle would have left tread marks in the front yard, it’s possible that the driver would’ve been able to speed off had the car not made contact with the Christmas decorations.
