Runaway Toyotas: Is there a Product Defect?

An ABC News investigation has revealed reports of more than 200 accidents and 16 deaths linked to sudden acceleration in Toyota vehicles.

According to the report, Toyota says the incidents are caused by floor mats becoming stuck under gas pedals, but owners say that’s not what happened to them.  Some Toyota owners suspect a glitch in the computer system is causing the “Runaway Toyotas.”
